Volunteers
The Seno Woodland Education Center needs volunteers to help in the many projects around our site. We could not run our events or programs with out our great volunteers. Here are some of the projects and approximate time of the year when they occur.
These projects can be done anytime May through June when you have the time.
- Pulling garlic Mustard. Place in a garbage bag and then in the dumpster.
- Cutting young Box Elder trees in the CRP Tree plantings.
- Cutting thistles in the prairie. Put thistle heads in a garbage bag and then place in the dumpster.
Group Projects
- Tree Planting/Filling in the CRP Plantings - Late April & Early May
- Prairie Burns – Early April
- Trim back Siberian pea bushes and white pine branches protruding into parking circle and Seno Road - Early May
- Trail Brushing – Early Spring/Late Fall
- Trim back shrubs near corner of chicken house and driveway - Early Spring/Late Fall
- Clear out around all trail signs - Early spring, late Fall
- Buckthorn and Honey Suckle cutting and spraying - Late Fall
- Teaching with School Groups – April through June and September through November
- Rendezvous Projects/Event – May

Building Projects
- Replacing Barn entry doors
- Repairing Pavilion overhang and adding vents
- Putting a Plexiglas door on kiosk by barn, so it can be used as an information center
